How much is rent at The Aspen?
Floor plans run one to three bedrooms. Two-bedrooms currently rent from $870 a month and three-bedrooms from $1,300, and pricing depends on which floor plan is open. Every open unit and its exact price is on the availability page. It pulls live from our management system, so what you see is what's real.
What does it cost to move in?
The security deposit is $500 and the application fee is $35 per applicant. If you're bringing a pet, add a $250 one-time pet fee plus $25 a month.
Is The Aspen income-qualified housing?
Yes. The Aspen is income-qualified housing, and your household income needs to fall within program limits to qualify. Limits vary by household size and are updated periodically — call 515-706-4186 for the current numbers before you apply.
What does it take to get approved?
We screen every application the same way:
- Credit. A minimum credit score of 525.
- Background. A clean criminal and rental history.
- Identification. A valid U.S. ID or Social Security number.
If you need a co-signer, they’ll need a gross monthly income of at least 5× the rent, a credit score of 750 or better, and a clean financial record. Call 515-706-4186 with questions before you apply.
What do the apartments come with?
A refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, and microwave in every home, and water, sewer, and trash included in the rent. Some floor plans have a washer and dryer in the unit; others use the on-site laundry room.
What amenities does The Aspen have?
A 24-hour fitness center, a community room with a kitchenette, a resident business center with computers, a playground, on-site laundry, free surface parking, rentable garages, and secure building entry. All buildings are non-smoking.
What's the neighborhood like?
The Aspen is in Highland Park, a few minutes from the Euclid and Sixth Avenue business district: locally-owned shops and restaurants, including the long-running Hiland Bakery. Belle Turner Park is close by, and 6th Avenue gives you a quick way to downtown Des Moines.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, cats and dogs are welcome. There's a $250 one-time pet fee plus a $25 monthly pet fee.
Are the apartments smoke-free?
Yes, all buildings are non-smoking.
